Led by BYU organ faculty members Don Cook and Neil Harmon, this tour will include nine days in north and central Germany visiting and playing some of the most notable historic instruments this beautiful country has to offer. Students will play and hear several of the greatest organs built by Arp Schnitger, Gottfried Silbermann, Friedrich Ladegast, Wilhelm Sauer, Tobias Trost, and others. They will also have the opportunity to attend church services in notable German churches, experience German culture, and enjoy free time in various locations.

Students will register for .5 credit hours during the program:

Students may not take any other courses on this program, including BYU online courses, without approval by the program director and ISP.
COST
$2,450–2,950
Included: Latter-day-Saint, undergraduate tuition of .5 credit hours (increased cost for graduate and non-Latter-day-Saint students), housing, guides, admissions, in-country transportation, most meals, and international health insurance coverage.
Not included: airfare, some meals, and personal expenses.
TRAVEL
Students are responsible for purchasing their own airfare to and from the program sites. Airline reservations must be made through BYU Travel. Students should contact a BYU Travel agent.

PREPARATION
Accepted students are required to participate in an international, cross-cultural session during the second block of winter semester 2022.
All participants are required to show proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination (including booster) at least two weeks prior to departure.
FUNDING SOURCES
Pell Grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to study abroad programs.
Academic departments and colleges may assist with scholarships and grants.
Private grants and scholarships outside of BYU may also assist (see kennedy.byu.edu/scholarships).
APPLICATION PROCESS
Students must be 18 years-of-age or older to participate.
Complete the online application at kennedy.byu.edu/apply. A nonrefundable $35 application fee is required.
Applicants will be interviewed once the application is complete.
Students will be notified via e-mail of their acceptance into the program.

FACULTY
Don Cook has been on the BYU organ faculty for thirty years. Cook has enjoyed a passion for historic organs in France, Germany, and the United States. His ongoing research on the relative intensity of organ stops has enlivened his performance and teaching of many organ works.
Neil Harmon joined the BYU organ faculty in September 2018. Harmon received a Bachelor of Music degree at BYU and MM and DMA degrees at The Eastman School of Music. A widely published composer of organ and choral music, he has performed in Europe, Canada, South America, and the United States.
SCHEDULE AND TIME COMMITMENT
All students participating in the program will be traveling together with the directors. Students will be expected to travel with the program group between the dates specified. Free time will be given to work on curricular assignments.
