ABOUT THE PRESENTATION

Asia has emerged as the fastest growing region on the planet. It has become a key driver in the world’s economic growth and is playing an increasing role in addressing both regional and international challenges. The U.S. has responded to this by making its rebalance to Asia a key tenet in its foreign policy. Learn about U.S. engagement in this dynamic region, as well as how the U.S. role in Asia will evolve in the future.

His Excellency Ashok Kumar Mirpuri received his appointment as Singaporean ambassador to the U.S. in 2012. A career diplomat, Mirpuri has served as ambassador to Indonesia, high commissioner to Malaysia and to Australia, as well as other service. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with honors, received an MA at the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies under a Raffles Scholarship, attended the program for executive development at the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland, and the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.
