Lawson W. Brigham is the Distinguished Professor of Geography and Arctic Policy at the University of Alaska–Fairbanks. Brigham’s research interests are polar environmental change; marine policy and ocean security issues; satellite remote sensing of sea ice and permafrost; marine navigation systems; coastal oceanography; and polar environmental management and sustainable use.
