The Icelandic Association of Utah hosts Iceland Days on the weekend following Father´s Day. This event typically includes the following:

Friday evening Icelandic Culture Workshops (for examples, “How to Keep on the Good Side of an Icelander,” the documentary film Of Icelandic Ancestry, Icelandic literature for children, a media presentation of an immigrating Icelandic ancestor, a demonstration on spinning, discussions of huldafolk and the Christmas lads, and cooking your own Icelandic pancake.

Saturday Family and Friends Fair, held at a park. The event includes a color-guard presentation of the U.S. and Icelandic flags, singing the Icelandic and U.S. national anthems, food booths (pönukökur, kleinur, pylsa, lamb sandwiches), Barnakór, entertainment by a local band, and Barnabær (Children’s Village), where children spend the time participating in activities especially planned for them.
