His Excellency Chum Bun Rong was appointed Cambodian ambassador to the U.S. and Mexico in March 2015, having previously served as an advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia. Rong’s dipolmatic career has included service as an advisor to the prime minister, as secretary general of the Cambodia Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), and as a member of the Permanent Central Committee of the Cambodia Red Cross. He is a survivor of the Khmer Rouge Regime. Rong is a devout Buddhist, likes table tennis, and is fluent in English and French in addition to his native Khmer language.
