Joey Leavitt is a Foreign Service officer serving as a watch officer at the U.S. Department of State. Leavitt previously served as immigrant visa chief in New Delhi, as a consular officer in El Salvador, as a political/economic officer in Saudi Arabia, and as a media analyst in Jordan. He studied Arabic for a year in Syria as an undergrad on his way to a BA in Middle East Studies/Arabic and later a JD from BYU. Leavitt is married with four children and enjoys trail running, photography, and forcing his children to listen to David Bowie albums on repeat.
